In our current culture of "get it cheap - get it fast - get it BIG - then get the upgrade," it's hard to avoid the perpetual feeling of lagging behind somehow. Or maybe I'm just the only one who has issues with the time it takes to finish things?

Here's one of those designs I ripped right out of a magazine. Well technically, my client messaged me the pic from her phone. Not sure what company it's from, but thanks for the idea;)


As always, I added a few twists and turns of my own to make it work for this particular situation. Now it's another design solution up my sleeve for the next time someone wants a less traditional (and very economical) 'frame' for their fireplace...

Whenever an idea hits the brain I grab one of these. Even when there is no inspiration whatsoever, I find that moving one of these around for a few minutes is like stirring a settled soup. Thoughts, feelings, limitations (ingredients) blend into something that begins to make sense. If it doesn't, a little therapeutic sharpening always helps;)

My car broke down this morning on the way to do some work. Whilst waiting for the tow truck under a big tree, I began to mope and sulk. Then I noticed the beauty of the tree I was under. If the Creator is able to make things like this then he can get me through days like this too...
